Not so happy about carnauba wax in your lotion bars, and now you're trying to get rid of it via soaping? 😜

I don't think that the actual FA composition makes much of a difference for carnauba wax in soap, since you wouldn't be able to use more than a few % anyway (at least in CP). And most of the wax FAs are very-long-chain and aren't even listed in soap calculators. And on top of this, the FAs in “true” waxes (carnauba, beeswax, jojoba) aren't bound to glycerol, but long-chain alcohols that behave in ways that soap calculators aren't made to predict.

Of some importance is SAP (which is 53–68 wrt NaOH) for you to know how much lye to use.

I think there is really not much to do about it than to give it a try and come up with an opinion on it.

Thankyou wise owl. Yes I read that it is harder than beeswax with a high melting point, so I wondered if it may only be usable at a few percent in soap. I haven’t tried it in lotion bars yet. I’m hoping it will arrive on the courier tomorrow :)
