Can you plane M&P?

I made some melt and pour soap, and I wanted the embed to be level with the top of the soap. However, I poured too much and got some of the base soap on top of the embed. Is it possible to plane it? If so, how would I do that?

If not, any suggestions on how to save this design?

Yes, you can. If you have a soap planer you can use that, otherwise just a knife and a miter box may work...
