I want to try a hair soap recipe that calls for 10% mustard oil and 10% camelina as well as the usual standard oils.

I found the mustard oil at a local Asian store but the camelina is something I'd have to order on line.

It's a member of the Brassicaceae/mustard family so wondering if I could just substitute Canola oil or up the mustard oil.

Thoughts?

I would probably substitute avocado or rose hip seed oil for the camelina. Make sure to run the recipe through SoapCalc or another lye calculator before making. Here is a link with oil properties, you might want to check that out to see what properties that camelina has and the properties of the other oils.

Thanks, great link. I had looked up the properties on other websites but your link was more informative.
