For some reason I've been a little meh about soaping lately. But I've been itching to branch out into other B&B products thus the bubble dough experiment. I made 2 batches using different recipes so I could compare the performance.

First recipe turned out extremely bubbly but it's slightly grainy and dissolves very quickly when wet.

I like the texture of recipe #2 better. It's a much firmer dough but silkier feeling, you can actually smoosh it around under running water without it melting away.

I used the Stephenson foaming bath butter base (Crystal OPC) and ordered it from Bulk Apothecary. I would love to figure out how to make it from scrach but think I need SCI and maybe another ingredient I don't have. Not even sure I could make it from scratch cheaper than I can buy it from BA (2lbs for $5).
