For some reason I've been a little meh about soaping lately. But I've been itching to branch out into other B&B products thus the bubble dough experiment. I made 2 batches using different recipes so I could compare the performance.

First recipe turned out extremely bubbly but it's slightly grainy and dissolves very quickly when wet.

I like the texture of recipe #2 better. It's a much firmer dough but silkier feeling, you can actually smoosh it around under running water without it melting away.

ETA: batch #2 is the top pic

They are so cute. They remind me of marshmallows.

Did you make your own bath butter or buy the one from Aussie Soaps? This looks like it would be fun for kids.

I used the Stephenson foaming bath butter base (Crystal OPC) and ordered it from Bulk Apothecary. I would love to figure out how to make it from scrach but think I need SCI and maybe another ingredient I don't have. Not even sure I could make it from scratch cheaper than I can buy it from BA (2lbs for $5).
