Hi guys,

I have a question regarding Bath Scrubs I have been walking around for, for some time now.
Will botanicals in your (oil based) salt/sugar scrub will turn brown?

I have been testing for a while now (several weeks) and I haven't found any issues so far.
Experiences?

Thanks!

Love,
Steph

They shouldn't turn brown. Generally it's just the lye that causes them to do so. However, if you are making it to sell take into consideration that that stuff will end up in the tub. I don't use botanicals in anything unless they are just infused.

I make sugar scrub and don't use botanicals (although it did cross my mind to do so) my thought was that if water was incorporated into the jar somehow, the botanicals would start to mold. I do use preservative in my scrub, but still the thought of moldy lavender buds freaked me out.
