Beet powder will turn brown in soap. I really like madder root for pink, think mine is from crafters choice.

I get mine from either mountain rose herbs or frontier. Neither is cheap, but highly quality organic herbs are rarely cheap. (I only use organic or wildcrafted botanicals, if I have any choice.

Does the source make a difference in the way it colors? Just curious. I've based my decisions on price for very practical reasons.
