For 30 grams/1.05 oz body cream according to a friend’s recipe, there is 20% (6g/0.21oz) jojoba oil and other ingredients. I want to add soft butter (shea butter or mango butter) and it’s up to 5%. I have to remove 5% of oil. How do I turn 5% to grams/oz to find out how much butter to use?

30 x .05 = 1.5 grams (30 grams multiplied by .05, or 5%)

Or, alternately, use this website (it's been a godsend for me):

Thank you and that means I have to remove 1.5 grams of oil, right? How can I find the oz from 1.5 grams of butter?

You're always better off to use grams rather than ounces. That said, 1.5 grams = 0.0529109 ounces
