I'm just getting into soapmaking (thanks for the stainless steel and lye help) and I'm wondering what ingredients are good for. Well, I know what some do, but not all of them and I'm wondering if there's a list online somewhere (or maybe one of you made one yourself) that lists the benefits of using each oil and butter in soap and hair products? I'm purchasing some of the oils right now that I know I "need" and see a few others hat I'm interested in but would like to know more about!! All help is appreciated!! :D

I like a little shea butter in my CP soap to condition. Shea butter has a large percentage of unsaponifiables in it and stays as a great conditioner when used in a bar of soap.

Paul...
