I have soaped with beer for several years with no problem. I made a batch today and i noticed the cover on the loaf mold was raised very shortly after poring. I looked and the top of soap was crack as if over heated. i prep beer by boiling and cooling then freezing in ice trays. I have never had a problem. Could I have not boiled all the alcohol from the beer prior to soaping? Same recipe, same beer , same molds same technique.

Sounds like your soap got hot. This is usually not a problem with alcohol but with the sugars in the beer. I have this issue randomly with beer soaps depending on how warm my soap dungeon is. I use microbrews which can vary from batch to batch, so if you're not using a large brew distributor (such as Miller Lite, etc here in the US), even though it's the same beer on the label the brewer may have made some small tweaks during brewing.
