A few months ago I posted about troubles I had been having in a new beer recipe. Once I discovered that there is two kinds of lye ( and I was using the wrong type) I whipped up a batch in my crockpot. First time with this technique. Any how, after letting it cure for a couple weeks I tried it. It had a slightly 'off' scent and was really soft and kinda slimy. (Gross) So the bars have been sitting for weeks on my curing rack... Recently, I was cleaning up my soap area and had to either toss or use so I thought I'd give it another try and what a pleasant surprise. It now smells really good and the lather is superb. perfect for shaving. I guess I just needed to give the soap fairy time to work her magic.
May the soap fairy bless your batches too!!

Glad it was a success! I too find my HP soaps too soft and slimy for quite a while. To me the cure time is pretty much the same either way I soap. Congrats!
