You need not worry about the mold temperature unless you want to prevent gel, which is a different topic altogether. But you do need to keep your oils and lye temperatures pretty close and both under 115 F or I think it would be about 47-48 Celsius. 65 C was just way too hot. I've no experience with beer myself but I think you do need to reduce it a bit and may be chill it before using.
