I made my first beach soap after being inspired by toxikon’s earlier post about additives to make soap look like sand. Not all too happy with my sky (too dark and too much white), but very happy with my water and sand!

Looks great! :) To me, the sky looks cool- it looks like a hurricane is approaching and kicking up the waves!

Wow, great looking soap! Did you use cinnamon as "sand"? Looks really good.

And I love the soaps in your avatar too, really pretty.
 
Loooove it! OK, you gotta tell me what you ended up using for the sand speckles!

Thanks, everyone....it’s a place to start, anyway!

toxikon, I used just a titch of brown oxide in the base and then added a small amount of “organic vanilla bean specks” that I got from Saffire Blue. They were not even remotely scratchy in my test bar. I think I had about a cup and a half of the tan batter and only used a level 1/2 tsp of vanilla flecks.
