That's a good price for tallow! I would buy some except I just scored a whole bunch of free beef fat from a friend who had a whole cow processed. I'll be thinking longingly about your nice clean tallow from ED while I spend a few days rendering mine in the turkey roaster outside!

So not only did they have tallow for $27 with FREE shipping, I ordered it Tuesday afternoon and it arrived Thursday morning! Florida to Maryland in less than two full days. I'm impressed. If this is their standard, it's definitely something to keep in mind if you need stuff in a hurry.

So you have a restaurant supply such as Smart & Finals? I used to pay around $35 for 50lbs of Beef Shortening which is pure beef tallow? I did notice it is about $40 now.

I have The Restaurant Store close by, however, they carry neither lard nor tallow.

And I'm a hobby soaper---7lbs of tallow in a handy dandy little tub will last me quite a while. Heck, it may
last longer than I do.....and my sons don't soap.
