I've been recently approached by a lady who owns a salon. She's requested for me to create 2 different soap bars for her. One regular shampoo bar and one with an astringent in it.

My question is, what can I use as an astringent? I've never made soap bars before, but I imagine its the same as making my soap bars.

Thanks,
Michelle

What about tea tree oil, witch hazel, cucumbers, dandelion, scented geranium, rosemary (which also is a great antioxidant and can increase microcirculation in the scalp), sage?

I was thinking witch hazel, but I don't know how it would turn out in the end of the soap. Rosemary EO is great in shampoo bars. Just don't forget the warning for pregnant women. Look at regular shampoos that are astringent and see what they have in them, then try to incorporate.

I saw witch hazel used on Miller's Soaps (I think). Tea tree and life everlasting flowers are also astringent.
