Are extracts safe to use in soap?

I have lots of extra vanilla, peppermint, and lemon extract from my kitchen cabinet and wondering if it's OK to use in soapmaking.

I would think they are safe, as we do use it for cooking. But you never know as there may be some strange reaction that could just ruin the whole batch.

If anyone has any ideas or has given it a try, please let me know.

No definitive answer from me, but you are talking about flavors while soap is concerned with aromas. Might be different things...

I do know some flavors can be added to soap to scent it. Check & see what the flavors are made of though. They could be any 3-4-5 of 100 different ingredients. Some of which are soap compatable & some of which are not.
