Aesops and similar brands: soap or detergent?

Hi all,
I am a little confused as to whether aesops hand wash is actually soap or detergent. Does anyone happen to know what qualifies a soap to be labelled as soap? Does it have to use potassium or sodium hydroxide?
Anyway thanks for any help here

Aesops is detergent based. Soap is made with oils and some kind of base like sodium hydroxide.
