Well it was all going fine. A double batch trying a new lye calc. to make superfatting easier.

The cook looked great and better than before (more water I think) and then I happened.

My brain caught up and I had forgotten to add the GLYCERINE.

Ah well, what's the worst than could happen!! I'll just add it now!!!

I kind of.....no prizes......siezed.

So, what is the worst that could happen. Will it work??

Thanks in advance.

I always add my glycerine after the cook before molding and have never had it seize on my. I would just let it heat up a bit more and see if it loosens.

That's a bummer!

Cheers. I did let it heat. I added more water (panic stations) and it just seemed to get harder.

Ah wel, it's in the mold and tastes like soap!! I used a potato masher and it was still hard work to get the S/F blended.

Post your recipe including water/KOH amounts. We can try to help troubleshoot.

Thanks. The glycerine is in. Maybe I should have warmed it up first. Kept heating but nothing. Added a bit extra water (not in recipe) but it seemed to get thicker!!
45% SA.
25% CO.
20% Deer tallow.
5% Lanolin
2.5% Shea.
2.5% Avacado
KOH 229g Water 465g.
1000g oils in total.
I kept half the lanolin, shea and avacado out for S/F.
11% by weight oils glycerine (Added later once I remembered).
It's hardening but still very soft thanks to the extra water!

That should be okay - it's more glycerine than I use and I also add mine at the end with the scent (I could add it up front, but I like the extra fluid for mixing in the scent) so as long as it is evenly mixed, it shouldn't be an issue.

That's great thanks. Just some extra curing due to the water content!!!!!
