Hey all you CP and HP soap makers. Lets see what you can produce using only 3 oils or butters in a recipe. How does this sound? I'm thinking perhaps late spring, around the first week of May. No specific scent or day to theme to just your best 3 ingredient bar of soap.

What you all think? :?: Sound like a fun, challenging swap? :?: Let the discussion begin! 8) :D

Sounds interesting can we add butters to it too or just 3 oils?

Any 3 ingredients besides you liquid of choice, your scent, and any colourants you want to use or whole, chopped herbs. The 3 ingredients can be Coconut oil, olive oil, palm oil. Or something like Palm Kernel oil, Shea butter, and Rice Bran oil. You all get the drift.... Just trying to see how soapers choose only 3 oils, butters, to make a great batch of soap. I think it would be challenging, interesting, and a great swap experience for all involved.:D

Hey Paul :D

Is this swap going to happen? Just wondering since the thread has been super quiet! Thanks

Yup, when is a good time for everyone? I was thinking having everything to me by, say mid May. We would need to get our soaps started within the next week or so.

I used to think I had to have 8 or more oils in a batch, but I am down to 5 or 6 oils/butters in my favorite recipes.

I think a 3 oil soap would be challenging! 8)

Chime in everyone. I think there is enough interest to do this!

I'm game. One of my favorite recipes uses only 3 oils. But I would like to try something new.... Guess I should make a backup just in case....

I'm so excited! This will be my first swap ever. I have three 'keeper' recipes that only use 3 oils/fats. The hard part, though, is going to be choosing which recipe to use! :D

Irish Lass, you should make smaller bars of each one of them! LOL I am off to soapcalc to see what I can see.

Count me in! I'd like to show Paul that a 3-oil soap can be wonderful (well maybe not AS wonderful as his many-oil recipes, but pretty durn good anyhow). Shall we say ahead of time which three oils we'll be using? So nobody will repeat...

I'd like to use olive or rice bran, palm kernel and castor.
