    Solid Perfume

I just experimented with a 2:1 ratio and found that the solid was very soft and I'm afraid it might melt if exposed to the summer heat. The texture was incredibly smooth, as if you were running your finger over a jelly, which I liked. I use fractionated coconut oil instead of jojoba, so perhaps...

Lotsa stuff.... Suggestions & Recipes appreciated

You use mineral powder to set your makeup or use to absorb excess oil. It's a popular ingredient in mineral makeup for its many helpful qualities. http://www.essence-of-mineral-makeup.com/kaolin-clay.html

    Solid Perfume

I use candelilla wax for my vegan solids that I have in progress. And yes, a 1:1 ratio works fine when substituting candelilla for beeswax. I've never worked with beeswax so I cannot compare; but the candelilla solid perfume is quite smooth.

New to Essential oils and blends

The blend seem to me pretty strong, I haven't used it undiluted yet but I was wondering if I could. -It is recommended to dilute your oil blends before application. Most cannot be used neat (undiluted) on the skin since they are of such high concentration. If I have to dilute it, what's the...

Any such thing as essential oil "samples"

newdirectionsaromatics.com has them too. They have more than edenbotanicals, but I believe that edenbotanicals have higher quality. NDA samples are a lot bigger, but their service and shipping is slow and a bit overpriced. Eden and I are on a first name basis based on how often I shop from them.

    EO amount for perfume making

I use 10% in my perfume oils. It's always best to start small and work up. If you're interested in making perfumes, there are a few books out there on natural perfumery. I also suggest that you research aromatherapy as well, since you will be using essential oils and the like. There are many...

which do you prefer? EO or FO?

I make perfumes, not soap. And I prefer eos and other natural aromatic compounds. I find their quality of scent to be magnificent, especially with absolutes.

    eco friendly packaging?

Maybe you can try recycled paper. I find soap wrapped up like a present in recycled paper to be quite lovely.

How to Fix a bad-smelling batch

If you have rose or jasmine absolutes try adding those. In perfumery they go well with almost anything, and rose is known to help "fix" mistakes.

    Essential oils and colour

I don't know much about soap making, but it certainly seems possible to create swirls with EOs. If you separate and then mix, it seems like it would to well. Please do tell of the results of your experimentation.

    Comparison EO shopping

I haven't purchased from most of the stores you've listed, but I have many sources in which I buy my oils from. And it seems like most of the higher priced places have higher quality. This isn't always so and it might take trial and error to learn about each source. I have used NDA and find...

    Creating a new scent

As a perfumer, I have a process that I go through. First off, I brainstorm a bit in my head, choosing different fragrance types as well as note types. Would oakmoss smell nice with tobacco absolute? It might. I place a drop of each oil on a testing strip and try it. If it doesn't smell right I...
