How to make beer soap - or not.

I boil for 10 mins, cool and freeze. That’s it. I’ve made lots of batches like this with no issues.

Today I made my beer soap

I wouldn’t say I’m an expert but I’ve made many, many soaps using beer and I have never had a trace issue. So, I don’t think it was the beer at all in your case but other combination in your recipe.

    Done with Lard_maybe

I don’t get it... I have lard soaps years old and they simply do not smell at all.

How much Vanilla extract in body oil?

Ah, ok, thank you, I feared that. I’ll give up the extract, will stick with some essential oils.

How much Vanilla extract in body oil?

Hi. I’m going to make a body oil and would like to use some vanilla extract(not EO). Can anyone tell me how much I should add per, say 50g of carrier oil? Or percentage? Thanks.

Want to melt body butter and turn into soap

Because I'd have to add a lot. I can't use a kilo of BB. Recipe is shea, cocoa, coconut, almond, equal parts. Haven't got around to doing it yet... hoping at the weekend.

Want to melt body butter and turn into soap

I've done all the soapcalc palaver of course. I have the recipe ready. Only wanted to know whether melting back would give same results in soap...

Want to melt body butter and turn into soap

So...made some nice body butter but stupidly put far too much essential oils in it. Can I melt it back and turn it to soap? Should work in my mind...

How much carrot purée at trace?

Yep, got it. Thank you very much ladies (and gents, although seems to me there are very few men on this forum)

How much carrot purée at trace?

So, what you're saying is that if my recipe has 100 g water and I want to use 30% purée, I should make the lye solution with 70 and add the 30 purée at trace, is that right?

How much carrot purée at trace?

Hi, can anyone tell me how much carrot purée I need to use at trace in a 70% olive oil soap? For colour and whatever other benefits... I'm talking percentage, I'd guess. Thanks.

What's this cream-like goo through the middle of the loaf?

Yes, it has lard, but most soaps I make do...never happened before. Yes, the goo is oily. Will test the soap in a few weeks, but think it's fine.

What's this cream-like goo through the middle of the loaf?

Well, I've scooped it out. Now I have bars with a window. Fancy!

What's this cream-like goo through the middle of the loaf?

Uh...I didn't taste it, you see... If it is, what do I do with it? How do I check otherwise?

What's this cream-like goo through the middle of the loaf?

Hm..strange. No, does not zap, even touched the thing with bare fingers... Not tongue, admittedly. Very annoyed.

What's this cream-like goo through the middle of the loaf?

Hi...made some goats milk and honey soap yesterday, straight in the freezer, then fridge over night. Cut it today, to find this soft substance in the middle through the length off the loaf. What is it? Gel? The soap otherwise is fine... Will it harden, do I scoop it out?
