i too am looking for an alternative to lard. there are a lot of vegetarians and vegans that would love a soap with no animal fat and also there are a lot of belief systems that don't allow pig fat

hello i am a newbie and yes i bought the cheapest one i could find and it melted the first time i used it. i was lucky i had a back up i am now looking for a stainless steel one. lol:lol:

i do not know if this is correct. but i have come to understand that dove do not call there product soap because if it has no lye in it. then the product cannot be called soap dove call there product a moisturising bar

i made my first batch of soap yesterday and am now hooked i did the lard soap i found that really easy then i got ahead of myself and did a second batch this time with oils. Big mistake i must have put too much oil to lye it just would not set. i messed around with it and got it to set will wait...
