What soapy thing have you done today?

I ordered all my oils for the fall festivals. I know it’s hard to think about fall but if I want to be ready I need to get started soon.

    Raw Tussah Silk

I forgot to add when adding to your lye water you may have to mix several minutes but mine usually dissolves without a problem.

    Raw Tussah Silk

I bought 4 oz from www.paradisefibers.com for under 11.00 including shipping. They have a 5.00 flat rate for shipping. It might have some leaves in it, it is truly raw, if you strain your lye prior to putting in your oil no problem. I have made 15 batches and still have a gigantic bag. This...

    Hello, brand new to soaping!

I also would do a non milk for first batch but if you are so insistent try using goats milk in with your oil versus the lye. My soap no matter how careful would end up burning or having that horrible ammonia smell. Granted not 100% gm but the soap turns out creamy white and awesome texture.

Gift Card to Brambleberry--What to Use On?

The chipotle caramel is good. I made a coffee soap out of it and totally awesome! It also sticks well in cp.

What's your favourite oil in soap making? Why?

Love sweet almond oil too. It is one of the few oils that actually can be absorbed in the skin which is why massage therapists love it.

    Incorporating Ultramarines into M&P

I usually mix ultramarine with a little almond oil, beat it with a mini frother and let it sit for at least 30 min and froth some more. I do cp so not sure if this will work for you.

    Favorite Luxury Oils?

I love sweet almond oil and shea. The shea I use at 20% with some tussah silk and really notice the difference. I have used avocado and really did not notice a difference but only used 10%.

How big are your CP Soaps?

I do like the big chunky bars personally for my self. I recently switched to making smaller bars because it was requested many times they were just too big and too hard to handle. My bars are 3.5x3x.75. My cutter miter box I bought cuts 3/4 inch soaps. I plan on selling them in a double pack...

The problem with becoming a soap addict.

I have always been one to make bread, cheese from gm and did dabble in wine making for a while but love soaping the best.
