    Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Soapers

I live in Coffs Harbour and for the past 8 years have been getting my oils/fats and a few other bits 'n' pieces from Essentials of Australia in Queensland, they have very reasonable prices but the only drawback is freight - I could buy around $800 in oils/fats only then to pay $500 - $600 in...

    "Found"!! Excellent fragrances in Australia

Hi everyone, Wanted to share a "find" that all soapmakers (CP especially but not exclusively) have problems with - finding fragrances that stick, last and don't seize plus help from where you buy those fragrances. "Scentral Flavours and Fragrances" (www.scentral.net.au). Michelle from...

    Why is this happening?

I'm sorry hmlove1218, my mind was stuck in overdrive didn't even think of M & P - and there are heaps of lovely soapers that can help you with that method but not me, I can only do CP or Room Temp - not clever enough to do lovely M & P soaps - I'm sure you'll find your answer here.

    Why is this happening?

Hmm!!! - what are you using for your divider??? And are you trying to do a two layer colour one side and natural the other?? This is strange - we use PVC tubes and put a divider down the centre then pour both colours in - once both sides are filled we quickly pull the divider out but we've...

    Rancid (?) Emu Oil Soaps

Thank you so much for your comments. I never thought about DOS because it's never happened to me at all in any other soaps I've made. Coffeetime - Emu Oil should have a shelf life of 1 - 1&1/2 years. I'm thinking the Emu Oil soaps we make perhaps don't sell as quickly as the Goatmilk soaps -...

    Rancid (?) Emu Oil Soaps

I'm lost and hoping someone, if not "everyone" will share their thoughts and help please. We've been making goatmilk soaps now for 7 years, there's always hiccups and "never did that before" scenarios which we get past most likely because we love making the goatmilk soaps - but...

    Aussie Soapers - NICNAS Registration

N.I.C.N.A.S Registration I've too just received my renewal for N.I.C.N.A.S. and it's gone down to $138.00 YEAH!!!!! I do think there should be some qualifying "thingy" if you do have to register, even though it's [payment] gone down it's still just the Government getting money for...

    Aussie Soapers - NICNAS Registration

This is good news - makes all efforts of typing to anyone and everyone worthwhile. Big thanks to SwiftRuby and this great forum for letting us know, and I'm sure N.I.C.N.A.S. would have taken my $400 this year but not give me a refund!!!! - being able to keep a little extra cash from what you...

    Colouring Soap

We made another chocolate log but this time with no added colour  Unmoulded this arvo and it's already turning brown like the Goatmilk 'n' Vanilla logs we do, seeing it this way it would be nice to have brown and white chocolate but......... - interesting to see just how dark it goes, but...

    Colouring Soap

Oh Ruthie, we've just this last hour finished 26 batches today and I fell great to get so much done. Time of year when all my wholesale orders get moving.............we've started making Newborn Baby's and they're so in demand it's hard to keep up - the moulds are ultra expensive but we had to...

    Colouring Soap

I should have realized I wouldn't need colour, but because I really didn't want to make a chocolate log I guess I wasn't thinking. So no colour next log. Kazmi, I so totally agree for a colouring section. I know I wouldn't be the only one who struggles with getting a colour especially...

    Colouring Soap

Well, I'm starting to think I did as well, use too much colour that is - and perhaps I shouldn't have used any colouring at all as I'm sure just like Vanilla, the colour would have changed to a dark brown anyway!!! I might do a test log without colour and see if it changes. I may try Peacock...

    Colouring Soap

Hi guys, I've looked everywhere but can't find a section of "colouring soap" (?) is there one (?). We're always on the look out for good colours and buy our colours from TKB Trading, they don't get "specky" and I've gotten to know what the colours turn to when used in making goats milk soap...

    I needed more shelving!

Ruthie, these are just the best I've attached a photo of our we have downstairs - we have to use 5 of them, but my husband put casters on so we can roll them out of the way. Another good idea is to put cotton tea towels on the shelves, you don't get any marks on your soaps then.

    Packaging soaps to sell

Hi Relle9, Link for the "company" that I first contacted is : http://colorfulpackaging.en.alibaba.com/ BUT........... I've just sent an email to the girl I deal with asking if I can post her email address here on the forum. I'm currently trying to buy from her 500 each of light green...

    Packaging soaps to sell

I package every soap we sell in organza bags which are then packed in display boxes my husband made - these display boxes are great as they have a "lid/top" that clips on/off. When we get to the markets all we have to do is unclip the lid off the boxes as the soaps are already displayed in...

Question to those that sell CP in shops

Exactly, totally up to each individual soaper, remember newbies, love to see the new wrapping designs - really loved the effort, time given and the look of siobhan1011 soaps - I'd buy them because they are different and you can see the TLC given to each soap wrapped - well done:clap:
