My handmade soap is making my skin feeling dry

Change the superfat amount to 7 percent and see if that helps. Make one pound test batches of your recipe until you find the right superfat amount for you. I never set single digit superfat percentages anymore. It was too drying for my skin. I can now make a 100 percent coconut oil soap that...

    Hello everyone!

Hi Josh! I learned soap making techniques by watching You Tube and by reading everything I could find in many searches over a number of months. I learned to pay attention and follow instructions fast! My soaps are great. I don't even use commercial soap anymore. I had to purchase a stick blender...

    Shipping Soap

I watched some product reviews on You Tube and the girls and guys were complaining that their bubble bars, cupcake soaps etc. had melted, were smashed or warped. They lived in very warm climates, AZ etc. The reviewers expressed disappointment. I don't know if there is temperature controlled...

A Few Tips Moneysaving Tips for Urban Soapers

I have found the more soap I make, the better it is for me to buy in bulk. Soaping is addictive and so, so much fun. I get to use the products I create and unlike in baking and cooking, I don't get any fatter.

    Tips?

Get feedback from those who use your soap. I was superfatting at 5 percent but bumped it up to eight percent because not everyone likes their skin to feel plain and unadorned. I'm weird like that. (my family said they want a more emollient soap in other words!)

Has anyone ever tried mixing an egg yolk or white in their soap? I would like feedback before trying. I saw an article on Yahoo Voices about the process. Here is the link: egg soap Thanks (Sorry about that other link. It was to one of my articles about raw juicing!)

    Soft and Crumbly Mistake

Great Idea! I have been mostly giving them away but I did think of donating to a nearby woman's shelter and to a mental health facility. Most people are so happy to get pretty soap that smells good and cleans good - ifn it were not for financial need I would always give my soap away. It is...
