Been away so long--Latest soaps :)

Hey all, took ages for me to come back :) Missed this forum! Here's some of the soap I have been working on. I hope this post is ok ^^ Just a couple Halloweens

    Body Powders?

Hey everyone! I have a bunch of old containers from my facial powder-they're the sort for loose powder, with holes at the top and it comes with a little puff. I have arrowroot powder, and have been considering making small amounts of scented body powder to use instead of perfumes or lotions...

    ❄What A Tweeeeeeeeeeeest!❄

I had posted this earlier, but it was reported and deleted--how strange! I'm taking the silence as tacit consent to repost  Anyway, I would have named it "What a Tweeeeeeeest!" but someone vetoed that ;) Anyway, this is a hot process soap. It's made with peppermint essential oil...

    Cuppycake ♡

I LOVE how this smells. It's a blend with the black raspberry vanilla and some other 'foody' smells to make it smell like a black raspberry vanilla cupcake! ITP tri-color swirl. The things on top are actually bits of the frosting I use for bath bombs :)

    Hot Process: Help pls <3

So, I'm making a recipe tonight that I've made many times in the past. This time, after adding the lye water and stickblending to trace, it did not 'cook up' like it should have-it was not soft, fluffy mounds of soap I had to stick my whisk in to make it go down. It was more the consistency of...

    BrambleBerry.com's Black Raspberry Vanilla

I purchased Brambleberry.com's Black Raspberry Vanilla scent. I received it today--it smells amazing. The thing I want to know is: Does it discolor? The one review on the site says it doesn't, and there's no warning on the page, but the 'vanilla' in the title just screams at me to add...

    My Very First Show

SO EXCITING. Anyway, like some of you know, I disappeared for a bit to get ready for Bronycon in Baltimore. Those of you in that area probably noticed the brightly-colored insanity that was that convention, haha. I did fantastically. It was better than I could have dreamed. It was my first...

The best customer appreciation photo I've gotten thus far.

Someone bought three bars of soap from me. They were apparently impressed, and bought seven more. And then he took this picture. Behold: The Leaning Tower of Soapisa. I was amused, to say the least. And yes, that's a kazoo on the left.

    Pumpkin Pound Cake

I legitimately put a disclaimer on this one so that nobody thinks it's food (don't need a repeat of the Smile, Smile, Smile incident, after all). It smells amazing-just like a pumpkin spice poundcake would smell. Hot Process again, natch. The little swirl came out well though, so no...

    Lullaby for a Princess

Long time, no post! But now I'm two months out from the convention and really amping up the soapmaking lately so it's cured in time to go :) Here's some more hot process, because that's just how I roll. The tops are brushed with silver, blue, and purple micas. The moons were made separately...

Question about USPS, Customs, and the CP

(I'm assuming this is the appropriate forum since I've seen several threads about shipping here.) I have a friend who orders soap from me often-not because he goes through it quickly, but because he's had the worst luck. It's especially a shame since he lives in Canada and shipping there is...

    Recipe Failure

I decided to make a soy-free, palm-free soap with EOs for my boyfriend's aunt (mostly for her. I'd sell the rest, of course). The recipe I used was as follows: Water 17.2 oz (a bit high, I know-I do HP so I sometimes up my water to 43% to make coloring/pouring easier) Lye 5.6oz Coconut Oil...

    The Midnight Dancer

I made this with black tea as the base liquid, scented with rain, musk, zucchini flower, and sage and lemongrass. It's simple, but I love it.

    How do you handle it?

Like many of you know, I've been making soap for a couple years now. It's always been great fun, and more of a 'hobby' than anything, even though I do sell it. My target market is very narrow (though I name my soap and make it high enough quality to appeal to a broad spectrum), and that...

    Ever Free <3

Because the woods can be scary, but so free. Made by request for a friend. Hot process, ITP swirl, scented with sandalwood, frankincense, mahogany, and a hint of musk. Whee~

    Drunkberries :3

Oddly named for most of you, since there's no alcohol in it. Hot process, ofc. Named and styled after one miss Berry Punch :3 Blackberries, blueberries, sage, and raspberry porter. Smells utterly amazing to be completely honest.

    Golden Harvest :3

I had put carrot puree into this batch, and I REALLY love how it turned out! It's also got tangerine and clove EOs-it smells wonderful. Thanks for the help when I posted forever ago with the questions on the purees-it really helped ^_^

    First Show-would love advice ^^

Hey everyone! I'm setting up to do my first 'show' of sorts in August. I'll likely (I say likely because I'm just waiting on the confirmation) be selling my soaps at a convention. It's a three-day convention which will be utterly PACKED to the rafters (judging by current ticket sales; that's...

    Essential Oils: Rule of Thumb?

Is there a rule of thumb for EOs? (e.g., never use more than 5%) I have four new EO's to use, a couple of which I don't know the 'safe' usage of. I was planning to use no more than 3% of those.

    Help with Purees?

I found some adorable bunny silicone molds and I would like to make some carrot puree novelty soaps for the holiday along with a log mold of it for the rest of the year. 1. Do I just subtract the water from the puree? (Meaning, if the recipe calls for 16oz of water and I use 3oz of puree, do I...
