A quick question about palm oil: At some of local stores they sell a Shortening brand called SPECTRUM. What it is: Palm oil (expeller processed) Also at Amazon for 6.49. Anybody buy this?
The "Chalky sub." you refer to is just that, rinse in of with water when you shower, IF it's the same as my bars get, that is a Thin film of white stuff. I don't even notice the film anymore....

Hi from Illinois, the Corrupt State. I am a long time soaper, although in the last year or two I have only made milk soaps, cream, evap, or goat, or a combination.
I understand about your soap scenting, as I too have had the problem of low scent in my bars. The batch curing in the very room were I am now typing smells wonderful, I hope the smell is still there in a month or two (or three).
