    Non-drying clear MP base - is it out there?

    Does your soap base contain sodium laurel/laureth sulfate? This is very drying and could be the culprit. Look for soaps without this ingredient for non drying.

    Just made my first ever M&P

    I am also a newbie but I think another way to release the block from the pan is to run a heat gun or hair dryer along the bottom to loosen it just a bit so it slips out. there's a slight potential melt factor, but putting the soap in the fridge isn't super great for it either, i think.
