Thank you. I'm glad so many have responded. I was shocked that the world wide web didn't cough up much on the subject. But I am in hopes to figure it out and share.

Anyone here have dreadlocks and make shampoo bars?

No problem. Thanks for the info. It really would be awesome to achieve an universal dread shampoo bar. I know that would be very difficult if not impossible. Everyone's hair and scalp are so different. But I still want to give it a go. :-)

Anyone here have dreadlocks and make shampoo bars?

Thanks I will keep that in mind and monitor what my scalp is telling me while trying this one out. I'm a little worried about the palm to as some say it leaves residue and some say it doesn't. Lot of testing and record keeping in my near future. :-)

Anyone here have dreadlocks and make shampoo bars?

I know some are able to use dry shampoo and I could the first couple weeks but after that I couldn't anymore. I think because of the deep cleanse mix I use. It has sea salt and lemon in it that dries and tightens everything up a bunch. What type of hair do they have if you don't mind me asking...

Anyone here have dreadlocks and make shampoo bars?

Dread-headed works for me. Lol That would be wonderful. I'm not sure how shampoos would effect my type hair versus hers as everyone's hair is different but I think knowledge either way is a good thing. I have to get a few ingredients before I can make up a batch from the link. But I think it...

Oh wow! Nobody here at SMF has dreads? Surely someone does. :-) Well if I can figure a recipe out everyone, sellers included, are more than welcome to the recipe. I just can't see spending approx $10.00 plus shipping for something I should be able to make. Here is the recipe I have so far...

    Recipe help

I will check out that recipe for sure. I have checked to see if any of the oils bother me but I didn't think about checking on the boys so I will keep that in mind for sure and probably lower the list. I definitely want to keep the EO amounts low. I will keep researching and playing with the...

    Recipe help

I think I will work on getting some. I used to use plants that we had for burns and such before I started soaping but we lost them a couple freezes back. I really enjoyed using aloe then and think I will get some and try it out. Thanks

    Recipe help

Thank you for your reply. I am going to add it with my superfats at the end of cook. I wanted to add the veggie/fruit puree for their benifits to the skin. Avocodo is so yummy and I thought it would be fun to play around with using puree. I have been thinking about getting aloe juice and...

Thanks for your reply. I was thinking of adding them as a super fats without the lye discount. I Hot Process so I would be adding towards the end of the cooking period so the lye would be done with the rest of the fats. I'm sorry I should have mentioned that. I read about the coconut butter...

Has anyone used Pecan butter or Coconut butter?

I am just wondering if anyone has ever used these in soap before. I do HP and was thinking of super fatting with them maybe? I am hoping to add a slight coconut and pecan fragrance by adding the butters and hopefully NOT have to use fragrance oils. Any thoughts or ideas? P.S. I have read...
