    A bad soaping day indeed

I actually got the cherry from my local farmers market...probably my first mistake, I made sure it was body safe but without any reviews I definitely was blind on how it behaved.

    A bad soaping day indeed

So yesterday I made 2 2lb batches of soap...Sigh The one I made in the morning was a orange, cinnamon, clove EO blend...as soon as I turned my stick blender on it siezed, worse than I have ever seen before, I truly couldn't even glop it in the mold, I had one big bowl shaped soap! So trying...

    Premixing TD

So one of the things that takes the most time for me when I am soapmaking is getting my TD where I need it to be, it takes forever to get all the clumps out and I like it to sit a while so it can disperse before adding in the soap batter. I was wondering, and I am sure this is not a unique...

    2 questions

So I unmolded a soap last night from my new silicone loaf mold and there were these little bubble like things, perfect little dots all over the sides, they almost seem like they are inside the soap since I can't actually feel them if that makes any sense. I know its tough to know without a pic...

    difference between evoo and pomace

Oops! The EVOO was $6 for 34 oz, not 64. That would be a great deal though! I know that WSP includes shipping on its items but it seems like that has been the best deal I have found, at least on oils.

    difference between evoo and pomace

I have been buying a brand of EVOO that is about $6 for 62oz. I just purchased the pomace online at Wholesale Supplies Plus for $19 for 7lbs, I like them because there isn't any shipping if your order is over $30.

    difference between evoo and pomace

So I have been using EVOO for my soaping since I started, purchasing on sale from the grocery store. Well I decided ordering online in bulk was the way to go and ordered 8lbs of olive oil, but ordered pomace. What is the difference? Do you prefer one over the other?

Lemon Lavender and Pumpkin Apple Soap

Here are 2 of my most recent adventures in soap making! The first is a Lemon Lavender, I purchased such a large bottle of Lemon FO I needed to figure out some more uses for it, the scent has retained amazingly so far and smells like my favorite Yankee Candle scent! This is a ITP Swirl and I...

rice bran oil & sweet almond oil

I purchased a bottle of Rice Brand Oil and sweet almond oil the other day, from the little that I have read it seems the rice bran is a good substitute for palm oil, is that correct? And it seems sweet almond oil is more of a superfatting additive rather than a base oil, what qualities may that...

    stearic acid and clays

Thanks so much for both of your supplies! I may wait on using the steric acid, I have had enough trouble without adding another variable that will speed up my batch!

    stearic acid and clays

So I did a trip to my sorta local soap supply store yesterday and picked up some stuff that I really don't know what I would do with. The first is stearic acid, I was actually looking for sodium lactate (I think) and ended up with this, what is its use in cp soap? I also picked up some clay...

    Question about colors!

Hi there! So I have been soaping for about two months now and I have to say...I am addicted! I just received a large order of oils and scents and I am so excited to play some more! The one thing that is seeming to overwhelm me a bit is colors...I have a few colors that I purchased from a local...
