Coal Soap! ( Pics Added )

Re: Coal Soap! I am guessing that there are quite a few on your "naughty" list this year. Good thing that you thought enough to give them something to "clean up" their act.

Still new to this - clear lines/streaks in my soap

Nice job. I wish my soaping accidents turned out that awesome.

    Superfat and pH...chemistry question

From my understanding of the chemistry behind soapmaking, the superfat has almost no effect on the PH level of the final product. The oils that are left behind by the superfatting have not had their fatty acid chains broken by the saponification process. The sodium salts we create in the...

    What is the difference

If you are just looking to make a salt bar, kosher salt is noniodized and is much much cheaper than sea salt. Of course it doesn't have the label appeal but makes a nice salt bar.

    Christmas

PS... Is it too harsh for me to get a bit of revenge and not hook the TV back up until I feel I am caught up?

    Christmas

Aaaaackkkkkk. Someone stop time or stop reminding me how far behind I am. House is upside down cause someone, not me, had to make me rip apart rooms to spackle and paint. I haven't made a batch in a few days cause I can't even get near my supplies because that room became where all the...

Gift Baskets with CP Soap Wrapping

Lots of variables here. Humidity, temperature, how long have your soaps cured, how does your recipe age? I would personally make up one dummy basket to see how they do if you are happy with the cure your bars have already.

Gelled soap - help please- new foto 30/9.

Re: Gelled soap - help please I would keep it out at room temp and when you are going to unmold put it in the freezer, not the fridge for about a half hour. I have one recipe I like to make with a decent amount of soft oils in it and this has worked for me. I normally leave it for 3-4 days in...

How can I slow down this fast tracing recipe?

I would try to soap around 115-120 for both your lye and oils with this recipe. If u aren't using an accelerating Fo or one that causes separation I wouldn't go for trace, but for a homogenized emulsion and then play with your colors. Should give you some more time to work with.

    Masculine EO blend help

Its nowhere near a 'manly' scent but have made a simple mix of spearmint and eucalyptus eo's in my cp recipe before that I love to use. Really helps to wake me up and clear the head to start the day. 2 to 1 eucalyptus to spearmint or it smells too much like mint chewing gum. I could also...

    Would love some feedback.

Thank you for thinking I could pull it off but unfortunately I would have to quit my job to setup at the local mall being that I already work in one of the anchors as a manager. A job in retail and doing a full blown presence at the mall just won't work, can't be in two places at once. I have...

    Would love some feedback.

Thanks Cosmo. I'm lucky that I have a friend that is a phenomenal artist. He was able to get my graphics done faster than I could come up with the ideas. If anyone needs someone to do some graphics design for them, let me know and I can get you in contact with him.

    Beer in Salt Bars?

Beautiful soap. Well done. I checked out your FB page and gave it a like. I love how every soap has a story or historical reference. Very nice touch.

Law Enforcement soap, color additive help

I really like the blues i get using ultramarine blue. I don't recommend black oxide for the black, cause its always kinda grey anytime i use it. LSG is on the right track with the charcoal for the black.

What kind of water do you soap with?

I use distilled also. Deer Park distilled to be specific (its what they have at the local Ace)

Thank you for looking and liking the logo. Its named after my daughter Catie who is the best 4 year old bath bomb maker in the world! Ok so I make them, but she squirts the witch hazel for me. She loves to be involved with anything daddy is doing, so i have to be careful to keep her out of...

What is you favorite soap mold?

I have two types of molds that I use regularly and love. Both are silicone. One is a bread loaf made by Wilton, I have several of these. The other I want to buy more of cause I only have one. Target.com sells a silicone "lasagna" mold. It has two cavities and each one holds about a pound...
