What soapy thing have you done today?

I ordered some new fragrances, but I think I should have researched the company more thoroughly. Oh well, I’m hoping for the best!

    I'm Not New...but it's Been Awhile

Hello fellow soapers! I didn't realize this message board was still active! I joined 7 years ago. I assumed everyone had migrated over to Facebook, so I stopped posting here. I'm glad to know we're still here. I'm going to poke around and look at what has changed over the years. I'm not...

    Making Soap Less Slippery

The high olive content might have something to do with it as well.

    Soap too cleansing?

I've discovered that my skin likes really low cleansing numbers in the 14 - 16 range. 17 is drying to me. I've used PK flakes and coconut in the same recipe, and they were fine. I only used 10% of each though. Keep adjusting your percentages until it works. I've spent hours on lye...

    Wet Soap

Cut pics (taken in the kitchen under indoor light - not that great): There are a few TD drag marks that I should be able to polish/rub off:

    Botched batches.....

I wanna play! There was a lot of shea in this batch. I unmolded and cut too soon. I should have let it harden up for a few more days. I used it anyway, and it was a great soap. Wish I could find those notes!

    Wet Soap

Thanks Genny! That's what I'm thinking will happen. I've never had luck with coconut either. :-( I can't wait to cut these. I used a water ratio of 2.1:1, so they set up pretty quickly. I was aiming for a tiger stripe with the blue one, but the bottom layers swirled. The top should come...

    Wet Soap

Wet Soap - Cut Pics Added I don't have a name for this one. It's scented with Coconut Lime Verbena, but it doesn't smell like the famous one. It does smell REEALLLYYYY good, though! Made with olive oil, palm, shea, coconut, cocoa butter and castor. Since that one went so well, I decided...

    Crumbly around the edges soap

I just had that happen the other day. I used too much TD, even though it was less than the suppliers recommendation.

    Casting the Gauntlet of Challenge!

My thought was to do a "hurricane" soap scented with Peach Daiquiri. The first problem was getting a peachy color for the bottom. It was way too dark. Then, the fragrance oil started to separate, and by the time i got it in the mold it was an oily mess. I gelled it and let it sit for a...

    Looking for a good Strawberry

I've tried several, and the best one I've found is from AAA Candle Supply. It's Strawberry Fields, and my strawberry loving customers LOVE it! It soaps great and is STRONG! You don't need much at all.
