    Any Preppers Here?

I prepped for Y2K, champagne and extra water, which obviously wasn't needed so the water was used and the champagne sat until I got word that the manager from hell was leaving a few years later. Drank both bottles that night. Ever so sick the next day...but I was happy. If things go bad, real...

    Acrylic planer/beveler

Oh no, just bought one from them. You say it takes too much off for your liking. Is it the amount of pressure you put on the bar while planning? Dumb question but I'm new to this.

#22, TeriDk. Here is my ribbon pour that got thick at the end. Lemongrass and lavender. Not sure how to load all 3 pics.

    Acrylic planer/beveler

Do you mind sharing what tool you use for beveling? I saw the photos of your Ion hanger swirl and really liked the edges. Thank you.

    First impressions of Northern Louisiana

I think I would be looking at a reverse osmosis water filter for drinking and cooking...water should not taste sweet. And perhaps a water softener or other filtration system.

    Essential Depot

I did hear back from Essential Depot. They said they will make it right and they did. Recommend them

    Essential Depot

I know some of you get some of your lye or other products from this company. A friend likes the Spirit Lifter EO blend but to get it, you must buy the refill kit at the cost of $44 (which I thought was outrageous). I wanted to make this for her birthday/holiday gift. Ordered it and low and...

Yellowish liquid on top of saponified soap

Hi. I live in a very dry climate and also had a sweating problem with a batch. It was the EOs I used. The EOs were re-absorbed after a few days. Only happened once.

    HELP! Silicone mold acting up

Could the inside of your mold be damaged or have some type of film such as soap residue? I've had the corners stick a bit with my ED mold even though I clean them well.

    Commercial Olive Oil Soap Smell

I have no idea. In the US, I'm not sure that all ingredients must be listed. I just made a castile soap (EVOO, 5% castor). No scent that I can detect.

Storing soaps to see if they will hold up

I store my soaps in my basement, a southwest room but away from the window. The max temp we heat our house is 65F - about 18C by your rock. I've not had any problems. I think sunlight pull fade colors and most of the scents I use will also fade over time, especially EOs. Around here most...

Using Water Discounts & Curing Time

Deanna - Bless your heart. I did read these threads and it was based on these threads that I decided to try a higher lye concentration - I will try to do a better job of using the correct terminology. Better yet I found the link to shorter curing time (rivercitysoaps.com/dwcp.pdf). I think...

Using Water Discounts & Curing Time

Thanks, I will review these links. The snowflake bar did unmold nicely and is a decorative hand soap only.

Using Water Discounts & Curing Time

I appreciate your thoughts. I've been making soap for over 5 years. It is this forum that recommended a 4-6 week cure. I simply chose to let my soap cure for 8 weeks. I always, always use my soap before I give or sell to anyone....always! I have bought handcrafted bars that burned my skin...
