    Worried about my soap

If you used full water and did not gel then your soap will be soft and sticky for days. Just be patient and it will harden up.

    Hot process issue

Does it separate during the cook? If so, my high olive oil recipes will tend to do that when I HP sometimes and I just use a whisk and whisk it all back together and its just fine.

    Soap display

Almost. I dont prop any backboard behind. I just butt the shelf up against the next tiers block. And yes the blocks go up in height with however high you need your shelves to be. Just buy a post at lowes or Home Depot and bring your measurements and they'll cut it for you.

    Soap display

I had my husband build me something similar but it was very awkward to handle and carry around to shows. Also took up too much space in my car when packing. I came up with a very simple idea that works for me. Just measure how long you want the tiers to be and cut 3 pieces of wood. In my case I...

    An hp Artist...

With all the extra liquid she uses to keep it fluid, wouldn't it take just as much time to dry out as CP would take to cure? Anyone who used her % want to chime in with your experience as far as how long it took for your bars to get hard?

    Empty box+freezer paper=slab mold!

I remember watching a soaping101 video and she did a goat milk soap and did some pretty design on top. I think it was some form of Japanese art or something but it was really pretty. Look it up on YouTube!

You know there's a sale today at WSP, right?

Is it bad that the UPS man just dropped off a package last night from WSP and I couldn't stay away from the sale and had to buy more? Speaking of the UPS man...I was driving in town with my mom in the car and happened to see my UPS man out and about and he smiled and waved at me. My mom could...

    Advice Please!

I just cut them the other day and the spots were instantly there. I only have 5 oils in this recipe and they are all fresh. Would dos appear immediately?

    Advice Please!

Im hoping someone could shed some light on to whats happening with the spots all over my soap. I made this batch using a trusted recipe so I know its not that. What I did do differently and I know it has to be the reason but I'm stumped as to why. I added kaolin clay, colloidal oatmeal...

    no more CPOP for me!!!

I CPOP every one of my batches. I do it for 2 reasons and 2 reasons only...1...to ensure a complete gel and 2...so I can unmold and cut my bars sooner because I have NO patience. They still remain on my cure rack for 4-6 weeks depending on my recipe. It by no means shortens cure time. I tried...

    Masterbatching

Let say your recipe is... 50% OO 25% CO 20% PO 5% Castor Now I want to masterbatch 5 batches so I weigh out 10 lbs of oils in the percentages above. When it's all melted and combined and you put it in 2 lb batches, how accurate is that batch that you have the percentages above. What's...

    Masterbatching

I saw it this morning! That's what prompted my question. Lol while she explains how to do it I still don't know how accurate it is as far as your recipe is concerned.

    Masterbatching

When you make a batch of soap, you have to be extremely accurate when measuring right? I'm confused about masterbatching being accurate in your mini batches from your main masterbatch. How do you know if your really getting let's say 5% castor oil when pouring your mini batch from your...

    Getting Soap to Gel Properly

If your oven runs too hot you can try preheating it to the lowest possible setting you have then turn it off and put your soap in then. That way it's in a nice and cozy environment. As far as the flashpoint, that's the temperature that an oil will actually combust if exposed to a flame or...

    Dos?

Awesome soap! Nice tiger swirl! I would vote on the oatmeal. Not sure when you incorporated it but I put mine in my batch oils and stick blend it so I know it's all blended. Ive had mine clump up before and it looked like yours.
