Just about to start soaping!!! Equipment help?

OK! I checked my ice cream buckets and they appear to be #2, so good for my mixing correct? If I pick up a #5 pitcher I should be ok for containers. I'm guessing small glass or plastic bowls are ok or measuring oils and the like. No lye touching them.

Just about to start soaping!!! Equipment help?

Huh! Interesting! I was thinking pyrex because that's what the soap queen uses in her short videos. But maybe I should look for plastic? I don't really want to store it. I'll make it fresh each time. I think storing liquid lye would not be smart with little ones in the house. I read...

Just about to start soaping!!! Equipment help?

I'm pretty experienced with the blender. I blend full pots of boiling hot broccoli soup pretty regularly! LOL! So I have a 4 quart pyrex batter bowl, and a 4 cup pyrex cup. I also have small glass prep bowls. Do I need any other containers for mixing?

Just about to start soaping!!! Equipment help?

OK, spoons, bowls, pitchers etc are cheap and easy to get at thrift stores or dollar stores. The expensive equipment I see is the stick blender, the scale, and the thermometer. Hubby has a meat thermometer that is stainless. I figure that's a smooth surface, instant read, and easy to clean...

Hi! I just got a couple of soap books for Christmas. I've been wanting to try this for awhile. So questions about equipment. bowls etc are easy, but a few things are more expensive. I currently have a stick blender I use for cooking. Do I need a separate one for soap making? I don't...

New here with question about botanicals

Hi all! I'm very new to the forum and soapmaking in general. I decided to start small and have ordered ingredients to make my own lip balms. But I have been reading, and have some questions... We have several botanicals growing in our yard and in pots in our house, including lemon balm...

    Solid Perfume

Hi! I'm a complete noob here, but I've been reading a lot about bath and body products online lately. I'm making lib balms to start. Many of the lip balm base recipes say they can be used for solid lotions or solid perfume as well. Hope this helps a little! Edie
