Tell where you buy jars, bottles, labels, packaging supplies, soap wrapping ideas......Just anything or any place you can find a decent plastic orifice to store lotions, whipped goods, room sprays....the list goes on.....and on. You know the drill. LOL. Shipping from a bottling company seems...

New soaper in need of encouragement... and advice. Thanks in advance!

So this is used as a preservative, right? I've heard of this. I grow rosemary and use it in canning....etc. It's the same process when preserving oily foods. Rosemary is a go to around the jar lip and making an oil top.(Putting oil barrier between the food to be canned and the jar top)...

YES that's it! I use the lye concentration box. It's easy to type in whatever percent you want. A lot easier.

    Pine-Tar Soap Recipe Feedback

Hmmm.....I've been making pine tar soap with my granny for almost 40 years(Well, watching her)......pine tar can accelerate trace and will. Adding all those essential oils could cause you to lose the soap(Rock hard) before you ever get it into a mold. Seems like you're trying to cure something...

Is it important that oil & lye/water temps be within 10 degrees when blending?

Well....I'm fixin to get my booty in here and try it. The time thing has really slowed me down as far as trying to find a rhythm or system. Slimlining the time it takes to make soap. Questions: Using ice in lye- do you measure the water and then make ice cubes out of it? Or measure the ice...

    Need some soap schooling

I'm a beginner but, I had this happen and it was my percentages. I was using a 38 percent lye/water ratio....it was too hot. When I went down to 33 percent every recipe has been golden.

    Linguistic Ponderings....

I retired with the casino industry....I got a thousand, too. LOL. I think it's a way of friendship and respect to mimic people. When in Rome do as the Romans do- is a quote I've always heard. I just go with the flow, I guess. LOL.

    Linguistic Ponderings....

Welcome to the South.....bit of advice. Things that end in "ing"....from now on drop the "g". Soapin, drinkin, thinkin.....Also, we don't like the "D" sound in the middle of words. I don't know becomes i ont no. You'll get the hang of it after you've been here awhile. My husband did, LOL.

    Can Lye be reheated?

I've been soaping for about 3 months. Can lye be heated once its cooled? I was just curious. Is it necessary or doesn't matter? I soap around 99 degrees but, accidentally let my lye cool to room temp. I went ahead and allowed my oils to cool to 10 degrees above it and finished my soap...

    Mission soap scraps

I love them. I got scraps-a-palooza myself. I just bought a nice bucket to keep mine in....LOL. You know you need to use it when you decide buying a bigger storage bucket is the answer.

    Need help!

Why not go with the old-school "Original" version of Ivory soap? You know...it floats and it's white. That's what they use in our nursing homes. They've been using it for generations. It's a very gentle and simple basic soap. That soap you were using? It's kind of a lie to sell the product...
