The orange is tumeric. I divided the HP soap into three containers. The blue mica one, the tumeric one, and a third Green herb one...They were spoonfuls in the mold...I think I don't know how to do this yet. but I think they are still pretty, and they smell great! I've watched videos on...

I didn't measure the mica...probably used about a 1/4 teaspoon. That could be the issue. So: use some of the oils to dissolve the mica? Can I add it as it cooks? or should I wait until the end? I am really clueless about this. I do use herbs too for color, but I just love to experiment!

I tried mica yesterday in my HP soap. I diluted it with rubbing alcohol, as I had googled it, for soap. Can't say much color came out of it. Is there a better way to use mica in HP soap? I used a deep blue mica, and it came out with a very light baby blue in spots, even though, I thoroughly...

I like soap made from lard. But what other name can be used for lard? I'm sure listing "lard" on the ingredients list won't go over big!?? I want to be honest, just not stupid. Thank you.

I use a digital thermometer. I am still fairly new at the HP soap, but getting the hang of it. I get it up to 150 degrees. It "mushrooms" around edges. I find the digital infared thermometer, really helps. I also put saran wrap on the crock pot, under the lid, to keep the water from evaporating...

I've made maybe 12 batches of hot process soap now. I'm loving it. I'm getting the hang of it. But: here is my question: The fragrance, although intense at first, and added at the very last, before molding: seems to fade quickly. Is there a brand or type of fragrance that is best for hot process...

I read on here today, can't find it again....a soap made with just one ingredient oil (plus water and lye). Is that possible? I thought we had to add different oil types to the soap formula: to get lather, longevity, etc. I've never seen that before. It certainly would be easier, to just add one...

I made the soap with the exotic oils, because I wanted to. I have dry skin, and I love the left over oils that stay on my skin when I wash my face. In my bath: they are pure luxury! I am worth it! ;)

It’s hot process. So it’s my understanding g the salonification is finished. I do it because I read to do it with hot process.

AliOop: you are right. I put the soap back into the freezer for 3-4 more hours. Then it sliced, just fine. Lesson learned. I usually make the individual bars of soap. Not so experienced with the loaf soap...Than you!
