    100%ish lard body cream

I get Morrel lard in big 20lb buckets from my local WalMart. It doesn't have a piggy smell upon opening. What I have noticed is that lard gets "piggier" the longer it's been opened. (I generally use it within a few months of opening). I've noticed this in the small buckets of Amour lard as...

    Need packaging design help!

I use Maestro Label designer. It allows a bit more option wise with design elements and has really help me develop my labels to where I want them. Here's a company I've followed forever on FB. I've always been a fan of her work https://www.facebook.com/bonnitagraphics

    Nature's Garden must have FOs

Sweet Cakes has always been a win for me (the only one that faded for me was Cucumber Melon, but that was expected) I haven't had any FO's that I hate OOB from there, ever. Fave from there is Lime Margarita, you won't be disappointed! Everybody loves this FO! My "regular" places tend to be...

Lip Balm Flavor Oils/ EO's... Weak Scent

I almost exclusively use MMS flavorings. Their blackberry pomegranate is fabulous! I have also used BB's Passionfruit Rose, and Chocolate Orange. Both excellent! MMS buttercream is really nice too. I wasn't a fan of the honey, but customers like it.

    My First Pumpkin Soap!

Slight hijack but I just soaped Pumpkin Lager and Oatmeal Stout. Both smell AWESOME! I can't wait to see how they cure out :-)

    Nature's Garden must have FOs

Cracklin Birch is nice. I also use Aloe and Cucumber for lotion and it's wonderful. Their Country Clothesline is a great scent for room sprays too. I really liked their Peppermint for the holidays, it sticks very well and you don't need much. I did not like OMH- faded to play doh scent. I much...

    How do you display pricing?

Typically, I display pricing in a clear picture frame, the sheet inside has pricing for all my items. People didn't tend to notice that, so then I switched to a large tabletop easel chalk board and writing prices on that. I think it looks a bit cluttered, and was too much of a focal point for...

    NG's Fo are they stronger?

Cracklin Birch is excellent and sticks well. I have bars that are over a year old and smell just as strong as the day I made them. My dad's favorite scent. (women seem to like it too)

    Pumpkin Lager FO

I don't get a ton of pumpkin from this FO. Warm spice and a bit of beer, with hints of pumpkin. But it doesn't scream PUMPKIN to me, more like "beer pie" It's really nice though, I'm excited to soap it

    grrrr... fragrances that don't stick!!

NG's fragrances have been hit or miss with me in terms of quality and sticking power. Unfortunately I have experience more misses. I do really like their Peppermint and Cracklin Birch. I use a lot of FO's from Peak, Brambleberry, and Sweet Cakes. I second JudyMoody's suggestion about joining the...

    Silicone Soap molds

I have a green Crafters Choice molds, 2 knockoff loaf molds from Bebe collections, 1 5lb mold/box from Nurture soap supplies, and 2 BB silicone liners. My fave is probably the Nurture mold. It's really sturdy. The BB molds are really shiny on the inside, so soap never sticks, while the Nurture...

    Bizarre Experience with "Competion"

LOL I've never actually had to do such a thing, thankfully! Haha I like your idea though!

    Bizarre Experience with "Competion"

I don't think it's wrong to fib if someone asks me where I get my FOs. I spent a lot of time and money finding the ones that are best for me. I usually reply with something like "I use a variety of different suppliers" If they push it, send them to Brambleberry. If they're not so nice, then...

Saying no to a custom order customer

LOL I would have told them to mix oil and water, stir and see what happens. That's what happens when you try to make soap without lye

Is stating a type of skin this product is for a medical claim?

I'm not an expert, but I don't think that would constitute a drug claim since you aren't claiming to heal anything or cure a disease. AFAIK, those would be considered cosmetic claims, so your products would have to be labeled in compliance with cosmetic labeling laws

Slab Mold VS Wire Cutter pros/cons

I love my wire cutter. I can't cut straight for the life of me :-)

    Booth/Table Displays?

Agree. I have a sign that says "Please do NOT open lip balms. Samples Available" People are forever trying to open my lip balms to smell them (and they have a safety seal!)

    Custom & Eco-Friendly Merchandise Bags!

This is very cool! I'd like to try this, but I have a curse with printers and really don't want to break this one (seriously, I've killed 3 of them in as many years)

    Wax Paper?

I use waxed paper. I really like the look it gives. If you do a ton of markets or shows it isn't ideal because it tends to wrinkle and not look as crisp, but overall, I like the look it gives. Plus, it's really cheap! It is really difficult to wrap soaps with peaked tops though. I would not...

Ugh I'm almost sure I shared a skinny cigar band template made in Word on here, now I can't find it to post here!
