    Soap Is Not Moisturizing?

It all depends on the individual's skin type and the fact that most soaps do not moisturize. Leaving soap on your skin will only dry it out, unless the person is using my Aleppo soap. I always recommend to my customers to pat dry their skin after cleansing. Anyhow, the FCC states that if you...

Would like a recipe for a simple Castile-like soap that cures fast

Pure Castile Soap If you only do CP soap, then you have to wait for it to cure. Pure OO soap is Castile soap. If you use any other oils it is not Castile soap (I don't care what others say) If you want to make just soap then don't call it Castile soap if you're not using only OO. Pure...

Would like a recipe for a simple Castile-like soap that cures fast

I don't make fake 'Castile' soap with other oils. The original Castile soap is made with 100% olive oil. Period. It takes almost a year to cure CP castile soap. There are no shortcuts. The end! Here are photos of my HP Castile soaps made with 100% Olive Oil

    44oz batch, 2oz FO --> too small?

FOs vary with scent hold. I myself, had to experiment using f/os . I found that each one requires either more or less than the recommended amount. Some people experience anosmia with scents especially "musk" (according to my fragrance oil supplier)

Why is Dr Bronner Baby Mild so soft

Hello, did you read all the chemicals that are in their products? They claim to make Castile soap, but it's not authentic Castile soap. They are soooo wrong. I make my own, natural shampoos and soaps which contain no detergents No need for citric acid in my soaps which have a ph of 7

    Aleppo soap

Bay Laurel Oil is not the same as Laurel Berry Fruit Oil. One is an essential oil made from the leaves and the other is a carrier oil made from the fruit

CP OR HP for Aleppo Soap?

That's a mystery to me, too. I've made it using the same technique, but once it started cooking it began to thicken. I made this soap using the HP method. My HP soap required only an additional week to totally cure, however the Aleppo soap took about three months to completely cure. This is far...

    Cottonseed oil? And adding lather

I used cottonseed oil in my soap recipes and am happy with the results. It has its own wonderful aroma. I have just started using cottonseed oil in my lotions and creams. No scent added because it has its own unique scent. 20% Coconut Oil is sufficient for lather. Any more would cause a...

    Sharon Johnson HP method?

Boys and Girls: There has never been a need for me to put my hp soap into the freezer. I think if you ever have seen freeze dried potatoes you would understand the reason for the warping. It may be that the warping occurs as a result of leaving the soap in the freezer for too long. Ice...

    Sharon Johnson HP method?

Here is a HP soap that I made 13 years ago. It originally weighed 5.5 oz., but now weighs 4-1/8 oz. It has been stored unwrapped in a soap box.

    Sharon Johnson HP method?

Seawolfe: I agree with you. There's a lot of controversy about Sharon Johnson's so-called new method. It's not exactly a secret that if the mixture is hot enough and you stick blend it long enough you'll have soap in a shorter amount of time than the traditional hot-processed cook method. I...

    Sharon Johnson HP method?

I got a chuckle out of the term "old recipes" and "old crockpots". The time hp soap takes to cook varies. A small crock pot produces a small batch of soap, therefore, it may not take an hour to cook. Another factor to consider in hp soap making is the oils and additives that are used. All in...
