What protective gear do you wear?

Oups, my first batch, I mixed the lye and the water outside. Now I do it in the kitchen... The wind can be so tricky that you get the fumes in your face... I found it easier to keep distance in the kitchen...

What protective gear do you wear?

I am still a beginner...maybe that is why I am still wearing gloves, long sleeves, socks, shoes, and if I think about it, I off my eye lenses and put my glasses on. Never put on a mask tough... and only put on my gloves at the moment I put the lye in the water and while mixing up the oils and...

Body Cream without preservatives--Youtube Video and Question

I hear of using some drops of extract of grapefruit kernals as a preservative. But I never made any lotion (just reading about it lately)...

    My botched batch of CP

Ok, the swirl might be a bit more pronounced...for the rest I love your soap. If you shouldn't have told the ash was ash, newby's like me would just think it was an extra technique you added. I kind of like the ash there. It makes the soap look more authentique and even the swirl, it is so...

    Shea butter allergy?

I think skin safe doesn't mean that it is ok to use for everybody, but only that it is in general safe to use on the skin. Like with peanuts...is safe for consumption, but some people can almost die if they eaven eat a fraction of a peanut (not to scare you but as an example).

    Felted soap pics &.....

I like your felted soap, but am not quiet sure what is the use of it... doesn't the felt get clocked in your waterdrains? Or does it stays together when using? Am shocked for the cats...

    EO shelf life

If you want to use it for its therapeutical benefices, I wouldn't use it after the expiring date. If you just use it for the smell: give it a good sniff, if you like what you smell, than you can still use it in my opinion.

    Logo, design opinions please

because I am a pink woman (free for interpretation) I first would have said that I prefer the 2nd. But after reading the other posts I have to agree that the 1st brings out more as well the text as the image of the flower. So I am going for the 1st too!

    motor oil

I kind of like the idea. Would sound great in a soap for motorfreaks and carfreaks. Wouldn't it be fantastic to make a kind of gardnersoap but for people who worked at their motors and be able to advertise the base is motoroil? Am sure there is a public for that around. Have no idea how to put...

No doubt FAILURE! (now with pics)

I LOVE the outcome of this soap. The subtile differences between the pinks make it a very soft, feminin soap in my eyes. Don't think about throwing this away!

    Lavender

Is perfect in combination with tea tree oil to mix in liquid handsoap to replace the chemical anti-bacterial liquid soaps that are now so much "en vogue"...

    Fall Trees

I agree with every body else. These just look fantastic!

Sorrel Root and Lady's Bedstraw for pink soap

@ debbism: thank you, this is so interesting and looks so great! How long were your soaps unmold before taking the picture and do you expect colour change in time? @ MissMori: thank you for the link, and indeed...so much more to try!

if you have the size of your mold, this calculator will give you the amounts of ingredients needed for it: http://www.summerbeemeadow.com/content/ ... pe-resizer

Can large recipes be divided in half?

yes you can, but keep in mind that the smaller your batch will be, the more correct you will have to do your measurments.

New Labels - what do you think?

I like the first picture. It looks colourfull and modern. (I can not see the 3th picture for some reason)...

    natural color for cp soap

@ Citymouse:I read something about it, but cannot exactly remember , the only thing I do remember is that it doesn't give a red colour as you should expect but that it gives another colour (I tought pale brown, but I am not sure of that anymore...)
