It only happens to some of my soaps. I'm thinking the ones I make with a thin trace gets it. I actually just replaced my scale because something was off and I was getting white spots in my soap.

This is my second attempt at trying and not sure what I did wrong. I think I might have swirl it too many times. I can't seem to get it right. I should've kept.it as a drop swirl instead I guess.
So I always spray my tops with alcohol and they seem fine. A month of two later I'll notice soda ash developing on some of my soaps. What would make soda ash show up weeks later especially if I already sprayed the tops with alcohol? Should I be storing my soaps in containers? I normally them sit...
Well I figured out what was going on. I think they may be lye spots but not sure. But I got rid of my other scale and started using a new scale I have. I think the measurements were off with the other scale. I haven’t had any problems since I switched scales. Thanks everyone!
