Xylitol (rather than Sorbitol) in soapmaking (for bubbles) - NOT tooth soapmaking

Nice! I use citric acid but I rarely adjust my lye, I don't mind the extra SF since I usually keep SF between 3-5. Thanks!!!

Genius Error or nah?? (Silk mesh powder in Oil based solutions)

Hi everyone, I'm always experimenting with with different additives and one day, I quickly mixed up a body oil for my own personal use and even though I new it might not work because it's water soluble, I added some silk mesh powder (a pinch). Well, It did as I expected and it turned my rose...

    Mica Storage

That's a great tip!! thanks so much! I take it though, from the response (or lack thereof) that not many soapers take this route, even though it would appear to make the process more streamline...🤷‍♀️

    Mica Storage

I am also thinking of premixing my mica's (1tsp of colorant to 1 tbsp of oil?? Right? Lol) because, while I enjoy soaping, prepping colors is right up there with the washing up afterwards. My plan is to use a small squeeze bottle 2oz or so, mixed with a light oil & with a drop of vitamin e oil...

    Mica line concern

Does anyone have any tips for avoiding separation? I understand that it shouldn't be too thick, but I'm wondering what other factors might be at play, because I've watched others use way more than I, and I just can see them doing that knowing their soap will separate. What am I doing wrong? Tia...

    Citric Acid Disaster, I think...

Thanks so much!! This is all great info and so well explained! Just so I'm clear, that extra NaOH (due to the addition of CA) is required regardless if I'm adding the CA to the Lye solution or the remaining liquids added to the oils, right?:) And also thanks because you brought up another...

    Citric Acid Disaster, I think...

Thank you so much for your reply! I will definitely try this out and report back. About my steps: Dissolve about 10 g citric acid (2% of what I guess is 500 g oils) into 65 g water Yes, along with the powdered sugar and silk mesh. Try to dissolve 65 g NOH into this. Yes, after about 20 mins...

    Citric Acid Disaster, I think...

Hi Everyone, I'm new to soaping and I have a question about the addition of Citric Acid in the water reserved for the lye solution: so here it goes: Twice, I have made a small batch of soap, wherein I dissolved (into the 65g of water reserved for my 65g of lye) Citric Acid at 2%, fine mesh silk...
