I followed SoapAddicts recipe today 74% OO, 18% CO, 8%Castor. I got it to a nice trace and poured into my molds and insulated them. It is now 6 hours later with no signs of gel stage. Should I be patient and give it a few days?

The soap set, no zap.

Thank you everyone. I heated it on low for 2 hours added a small amount of water and fragrance and it seemed to meld together-it was all blended it seemed. I poured it into my mold and will do the zap test tomorrow. If all else fails, a laundry soap it is. I appreciate the canola oil advice.

Thanks for the reply. It was 100% lye. I was thinking it was the wooden spoon too,. should I rebatch now or wait til the oil is absorbed? I know I need a stick blender and I know I was impatient- 80 minutes of hand mixing was quite long. But for my first time, wanted to get a feel-or...
