    White spots in soap

Honestly, I have been recently slowly going lower with my mixing temperature, just to see how low I can go lol. When I mix the lye and oils together, the oils aren’t transparent so maybe I just mixed it too low. Like I said, I did a million zap tests and nothing happened (on multiple spots and...

    White spots in soap

I haven’t used the FO oil before, that was the first time, and it didn’t trace quickly. My lye was around the same: just under 90 degrees, and it also went into the fridge for a bit. The fats are were probably in the fridge for 10 ish minutes. That could possibly be it as well. I don’t think...

    White spots in soap

I just melt all the oils over the stove together and let it cool down, sometimes I put it in the fridge to cool it down faster ( which i did this time). My recipe includes: 65% olive oil, 17% coconut oil, 15% palm oil, 2% beeswax, 1% castor oil. I also put a brown oxide, a coffee fragrance...

    White spots in soap

I have recently made a coffee soap and just cut into it to only find a bunch of white spots in the soap. Thankfully the soap has coffee grinds in it so it actually doesn’t look too bad (kinda goes well with it lol), but I was wondering if anyone knows what this is and if it’s safe to use? I did...

The coffee grinds were dry and I used 1 tbsp.

    Soap isn’t hardening properly!

I recently just checked on it and it’s starting to harden, slowly but surely🙂

    Soap isn’t hardening properly!

I usually wait 3-4 days to unmold with my other soaps and they have cut well with that time frame. The FO I used was called “Coffee Beans” from Candora Soap (Canada based). I’m just hoping it will harden in a few days, and hope I don’t have to scrap the batch!😕

    Soap isn’t hardening properly!

Thank you! I’m also thinking the same, I’m probably just being impatient 😅 I just put it with my other soaps to cure. I put all my soaps in the freezer for the first day to prevent gelling and they have all came out wonderfully. I don’t believe it was a mismeasurement as I always double check...

    Soap isn’t hardening properly!

I have recently made a coffee soap (with coffee grinds incorporated) and for some reason it is barely hardening. It hasen’t been 24 hours but i let it sit in the freezer overnight and it went from being rock hard to a semi- hard mush. Now the texture on the top is holding up, but with all my...

Should I include MP ingredients into my general CP soap ingredient list?

Thank you for sharing this! Will definitely take a look into it.

Should I include MP ingredients into my general CP soap ingredient list?

Thank you for the feedback! It's funny that you mention royalty soaps because I was thinking about the same thing and her use of embeds. Since I watch her youtube videos, I know she has stated that she uses MP for soap embeds and although I went to look on her website, I couldn't find her MP...

Should I include MP ingredients into my general CP soap ingredient list?

No worries at all! I was thinking the same thing. I have looked up some people using embeds and have noticed that they didn't include the embed ingredients which I found to be strange.

Dyes, Micas, or Natural Colorants for Beginners?

I personally like to use oxide pigments:) I have used mica before (and maybe it was just the colour) but found that it morphed quite so. I also know that there can sometimes be ethical problems with the sourcing of mica (though it is possible to obtain ethically-sourced mica) and thats just...

Should I include MP ingredients into my general CP soap ingredient list?

Hi there! I am relatively new at soap making and have made a few batches so far (CP only). My next challenge to put some embeds, using a MP, on the top of a batch. Now this may be a silly question but once I start selling the soap, should I include the MP ingredients into my ingredients list...
