I made a DIY dry shampoo dispenser

I was looking at getting one of these powder spray bottles for my dry shampoo, but people are having all sorts of issues with them based on the pics in the reviews. So I remembered this old trick from Martha Stewart about storing powdered sugar in a mason jar, except you take off the top part...

    Thoughts on making shower steamers

On my quest to make my shower smell like a spa, I made shower steamers based on a recipe i had found on this forum. The house smelled amazing, and it reminded me of a crisp winter morning up North. As I was mixing up the batter, I thought it was quite a lot of essential oils and expensive...

    Soap with extra free lye

So I want to make a soap paste which has ~2.5% free lye (potassium hydroxide) leftover after saponification. I want to use it to strip the seasoning from my cast iron pan. Folks use a lye bath with 1 pour per 5 gallon of water (so ~2.3% lye solution) to do so. Since I live in a tiny apartment...

Shipping supplies from Canada to the US

Hi all! I recently moved from Canada to the US, and want to continue buying from my favorite supplier in Canada (Voyageur). Does anybody know if UPS would charge me brokerage or import fees if I ship items from Canada? Looking at the UPS site, it says there's no brokerage fee for packages < 800$...
