    Max amount of EO?

Well I’ll be...... ive never used that before! I’ve heard of it but haven’t checked it out. What a cool tool that I must use more often. Yes you are correct. 5% for strongest. I’m guessing each oil is different so I won’t assume I can use 5% with each EO

    Practicing swirls

The bottom left one I tilted mold and alternated pours to half way, then rolled mold to other side and did the same thing. Inspired by y’all skinny shimmy because that’s the only pour technique video I’ve watched so far lol. Ya I need to get with the program and learn more of these professional...

    Practicing swirls

Right?! I don’t see how mistakes can be duplicated either. Just got to enjoy them while ya have them I reckon. Hanger swirl?? What’s that? I didn’t use any tools on them, other then a skewer stick on the puke green one to poke it some lol

Eugenol? Hmmmm. I don’t think that’s written on any of the EO bottles?? Oh dear so there’s a few EOs that accelerate... yikes!!!!

One pot wonder technique? Lol I don’t even know what that is! I literally don’t know any of the different techniques other then tall skinny shimmy. I just tilted the mold and alternated colors with a really runny trace. I need to look up that technique you mentioned!

    Max amount of EO?

So the sweet succulent wifey of mine wants me to make her a personal loaf of soap with lavender EO. She wants me to add more EO then the recommended 3% because she thinks that amount isn’t enough and makes a weak scented bar of soap. I personally agree with certain scents this is true, but...

    Practicing swirls

Here are some of my favorite soaps I’ve been making. I’m sure all of you can tell how I poured, nothing fancy, just trying to get down the different trace, and pours and color experimentation. The blue and white one(sky soap) is my favorite actually, I only put .1 oz of clove EO and it seized...

    Packaging affect curing?

I don’t feel toooooooooo horribly bad being it’s all my intermediate family and I did tell them to make sure it cures for a couple weeks after unwrapping and the longer the better. For sure though this is the only and last time I’ll be sending out soap that’s not fully cured. I’ve learned...

    Packaging affect curing?

It’s Christmas time! So I’m getting soaps ready to send to family and friends. The soap I am sending was made a couple weeks ago and some only a week ago. I’m leaving notes with the bars that they need to be decoration for a few weeks before use. I’m wondering if shrink wrapping them for...

    Adding Shea butter

Thank you all for the input!!! I think I’ll work on a whole new formula to work with Shea and I will definitely change the CO. I remember reading 20% is the most to go with CO. So that does make sense I’m working on a batch now. Doing a small 20oz mold, no scent, no colors, all natural! going...

    Adding Shea butter

I forgot to ask if Shea butter even makes much of a difference. I been using it by itself on my cracked skin from the cold weather and am hoping it makes a better bar for my skin

    Adding Shea butter

Howdy y’all!!! Haven’t posted in a while, but I’ve been actively making soap! I have several beautiful bars now I have the mix and pour down finally! I am wanting to start using Shea butter in my recipe but can’t decide which ingredient to subtract to add it. Here’s the recipe as of now: 50%lard...

    Gel phase and micas

I guess I use a very small amount then. I can get 2 or 3 uses out of one sample pack. But I use it in 12-20 oz parts in a 40oz batch(2 or 3 color mix). It does make light colors but it looks perty gosh darn sexy to me lol.

    Hear of this brand?

It was in a small little section that had soap base and molds. I’m with you though, probably just some cheap thrown together products to make a soap section. The FO was only 3 bucks for 2 oz lol. Heck I bought one I’ll give it a whirl and see what happens.

    Hear of this brand?

We went to a local craft store to get some fun gender reveal stuff, and we saw an isle with oils. All are this brand. Most were fragrance oils with a few EOs. Ever heard of this brand??

    First melt and pour

Wow I forgot I made this post! I wouldn’t have started a new one and just added to this one with my questions. I’ll check out that link. And I see now a website from the soap base company and will see what they say.

    Good mixture?

We ordered some more melt and pour. The 5 lb of honey soap base, the 2 1 lb bricks of goats milk base, and - small tub of Shea butter. What’s a good % of these to go together? Shea shouldn’t be more then 20% correct? Maybe half and half of the two bases then the 20% Shea?
