    Removing fragrance from dishwasher

I've found that old tea towels are just as good as microfibre cloths and it's a great way to get a bit more use out of them. I then put the tea towels in a bag in a corner until there's enough for a machine load. I rinse them first in a bucket of water then machine-wash them without any kind of...

    Using sea glass in soap

A big problem with gemstones and crystals generally is that they are mined, usually with detrimental effects to ecosystems as well as exploitation of workers. For a mere trinket or superstitious token, it is not a logical degradation of the habitats upon which we all depend to survive. This...

High Water Discount and Slow Trace

That's really interesting! I have found with a similar per cent of hard oils, it does not take all that long to blend by hand instead of stick, maybe fifteen minutes? ...and it definitely gives you longer, unless the fragrance is a proper monster.

Not sure if this is okay...

I understand phobias can be incredibly difficult to live with (I am human and have had my own). However it is not advisable or necessary to kill invertebrates in the normal course of things. As a scientist, it is hard to find words in a short post to convey how soon, and how dramatically, our...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Yes to all these things, thank you Dawni. A firmer bar in the end seems that be the reward for having to soap hotter and work quicker...(and hallooo back 😀)

What soapy thing have you done today?

Do you find the mango butter speeds trace/makes for a quick-hardening bar? Am tinkering with this butter myself.

Your experiences trying FO's that smell awful OOB?

I wondered these same things too. Raid heh heh! Urgh! I bought two scents both so bad i chucked them and i hate waste. Piping Rock - the cherry blossom and a honey one. Burned my nostrils off!! I have a few i use only to deodourise the outside bin if it smells bad enough to need washed out. They...

So many things went wrong with this soap

If you whizz the td with a mini whizzer in the oil it helps. If still problems get a cheap electric coffee grinder and pre whizz your whole stock of td

    Lye in my eye help

Recommend get the safety goggles with elastic around your head, snug fit around the eyes, fewer gaps than the hard plastic safety glasses and less cumbersome than a whole head visor, although the latter is good for when washing up as that is the splatteriest part of all, and face lye burns are...
