    99% rubbing alcohol

I used 99% for the first time and it looks like it ate away at my soap.

    Fragrance

Is it better to use fragrance than essential oils? Also are fragrances synthetic?

    Best single bar soap cutters?

I use a Rocking pizza cutter. It doesn't do much for pizza, but it's fantastic for cutting soap!

    Wrapping

What is a good way to wrap freshly made soap? I have been using Saran Wrap, but something tells me this is not the right way.

    soap

Thanks everybody. I just stabbed a hole in the middle of it. The suction released and the lid came off! I can't remember what I did to get the soap out, but it seems to me it came out fairly easily.

    Shea butter

I will never buy my soap bases at Amazon. Instead of a brick, they sent me lump of Shea butter, when I asked for a brick for M&P. It was hard to work. Now I have the softest hands in Canada. Took longer to melt, taking a long time to develop a skin. Am waiting to add my second layer. Used mica...

    Brown soap

Thanks. It was a recipe from a book. I wonder if the author tried it out first. Funny thing: my scraps stayed purple.

    Charcoal Bleeds

I am a newbie, but I'm really enjoy melt and pour soap making. I wanted to make a layered soap. The first layer was fine. But maybe I didn't let the soap harden enough. Anyway, when I poured the next layer ( charcoal mixed with rubbing alcohol) like it said in the recipe; it bled into the first...

    Help with M&P

Point taken. Do you think I should wait until first layer has hardened a bit more, before adding next layer?

Bleeding charcoal soap? Made with CPHP

Does anybody do melt and pour layering? My charcoal turned gray ( desired colour was black). When I put the charcoal mix (charcoal and rubbing alcohol) and layering it, it bleeds. Could it be that the first layer was not firm enough. Are you supposed to wait until the first layer hardens?
