    Laundry Soap Bar

A couple of friends were asking for some and I thought to make some to give to them. Also I wanted to cut in bars as more of use on places like collars when handwashing. Not so much of shredding it to powder.

    Laundry Soap Bar

Thanks for the feedback. How soon do you cut into it? It seems to harden so fast. I make mainly olive soaps and this took me by surprise.

    Laundry Soap Bar

Heya, Was wondering anyone have any tips for a laundry bar. I just made a small batch of it and had encounter some gremlins! It's a 100% CO batch with 3% superfat. I use a lye concentration of 33% and added a Petitgrain and Cedarwood EO. All went fine until I went to check on it in the mold...

    GM smelling 'cheesy'

green soap: I superfat at 10%. maybe this could be it. Too much milk coz I use a 28% lye concentration. I'm gonna try the ice cube tray for the next batch. GM smelling 'cheesy'

Hi Lindy, Yes the milk is frozen. But it's in larger chunks than in small pieces. Normally I waited to become slightly slushy before I add the lye. And I make sure I stir until the lye dissolves. The thing is, once I stir all the lye in, the solution is fine and liquid, but if I let it sit too...

    GM smelling 'cheesy'

Hi there, was wondering if anyone experiencing their GM smelling 'cheesy'. Recently I swap from using powdered GM to fresh GM. The soap made from fresh GM will smell caramel at first, then 'goaty, cheesy'. I know it's not a rancid smell. Is there something wrong with it? When I mix the lye into...

    Suggestion to swap Beeswax

Thanks for the suggestion ladies. I'm taking out the Beeswax coz of the same reason you need to soap hotter. I didn't feel a significant hardness it gives just that I like the 'emolliency'. Now I'm thinking maybe some Shea Butter and Macadamia.

    Suggestion to swap Beeswax

The Beeswax I use initially to want the bar to be harder but ended up I find it leaves a balmy nice feel to the skin after shower. I just use 1% of and can feel the difference in the same formula without the Beeswax.

    Suggestion to swap Beeswax

Hi there, I've been soaping mostly with Coconut, Olive, Palm, Castor and Beeswax. Recently I'm thinking to take out the Beeswax in my recipe and not sure what other vege base oil have similar properties as Beeswax. Would love to hear some suggestions :D

    Soaping and pets

Nice to hear 2 different point of views. I do agree however eventhough one may have a specific room for soaping, but eventually animal dander is kinda unavoidable unless one keep the animal away from the room and you wear a clean suit everytime you soap. What if one announce upfront ( so far I...

    Soaping and pets

Not sure how I'd go about this. I'm wondering is there a peeve about people who sell soap with pets around their soaping area? I know lots of people have pets and soap. Is there a NEED to let your customer know that you are soaping in an environment with animals around? I chance upon some...

Anyone seen this before on their soaps? The black soap actually have ash before I wipe it off with a damp towel, but now it have something white and fuzzy on it. Only a few bars in this batch affected. The light soap is GM. I'm not sure how's the texture of it as it's a pix sent to me by my...

A friend told me while using my charcoal soap in the shower that it crumbled into pieces. Have anyone experience something like this? This is the second time I heard that my soap crumbled during shower the first being a stout soap with cocoa powder. I'm wondering did I ODed on the charcoal or...

    Decanting EO

For the baking soda, do you just poured it into the bottles in their powder form or premix them in water?

    Decanting EO

At the moment I decant my EO into smaller bottles using disposable pipettes. I'm thinking to reusing the same small bottle for future decants. Can this be done? How do I go about cleaning the bottles? They are Amber bottles with small necks. Thanks
