    Help with tracking recipes

I have used Notion for a couple of years and love it. I used it to track quilts I make and ones I quilt for others.....Love it and being able to put pictures in it easily. I actually got out of the habit of using it last year....... I hadn't thought of using it for my soap...🤦‍♀️ I am going...

I think I got a crap scale...... They market scales for poop? What in the world?...and who would want to weigh crap anyway? ...and how are you going to get it on the scale? Hmmmm

    Sweet Orange Chili Pepper soap

It isn't attached to the soap. It stayed there long enough for a picture! 😁 The lion is fun, but a bit small!

August 2020 SMF Challenge - Zig Zag Cosmic Wave Technique Entry Thread

I made two batches and had hoped to try again, but with the kids starting school it hasn't happened! Not super happy with any of my tries....I think this is one that takes some practice! I enjoyed it so will continue to use the technique on a couple of batches in the next week or two and try to...

SMF August 2020 Challenge - Zig Zag Cosmic Wave Technique

I have made two attempts....I like my second one better at this point, but it still isn't great. I cut all my soaps with a knife, so when I try to slice off a very thin slice to reveal more of the pattern they tend to not look as nice. I am letting my second batch harden up a little more and...

    EO blend advice please!

I have several bottles of leftover EOs that I purchased and would like to use. My problem is my "smeller" isn't very good! LOL! I am not experienced at blends or even telling what one particular EO smells like or it's characteristics....if that makes sense? I have looked at various posts and...

Actually I did cut them! Ended up cutting them about 2 hours after I wrote my earlier post... Sure glad I didn't wait another 8-12 hours!!! :nodding: Here are the cut bars -

    Zany's no slime castile

@Zany_in_CO thank you so much for the recipe! I tried my first batch of the No Slime Castile (+ 10% coconut oil and 5% castor oil) and was thrilled with how things went. My lye solution did turn a little cloudy, but I didn't have any small particles precipitate out. No color, no FO's. I...

    Lard soaps and DOS?

I wanted to update everyone on my DOS issues. I moved all my curing soap down to the basement where it is cool and dark. Prior to moving I shaved off all the DOS spots that had appeared on the only two batches it affected. Since that time I have had NO more DOS show up on any of these batches...

    Sweet Orange Chili Pepper soap

This is my latest cut of soap. I worked up a 70% palm recipe ('cause I had the palm and need to use it up!) and scented it with NG Sweet Orange Chili Pepper. Micas used were NS Orange Vibrance and NS Firecracker. I expected the 70% palm recipe to accelerate for some reason but it didn't at all...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I unmolded my batch of Zany's No Slime Castile this morning - just after about 14 hours. I probably could have waited another few hours, but it came out all right, only a little soft at the edges. Will cut it tomorrow morning. Looking good so far! Thanks for the recipe, @Zany_in_CO !

What soapy thing have you done today?

I made my first ever batch of Zany's No-Slime Castile. I didn't add any FO or color and the recipe behaved perfectly. Can't wait to unmold it! I also cut a 70% palm recipe that I made yesterday. Here is the poured soap - I will post cut photos in the photo gallery later tonight or tomorrow...
